The recap from TSN.ca

The turning point: Toronto’s defense in the first quarter was doing fairly well and even forced the first turnover of the game on downs, but then Montreal got serious on offense and executed a 10 play, 88 yard drive that chewed up over six minutes of clock in the second quarter.  They followed that up shortly after with another drive – this one also 10 plays – to end the half that covered over half the field in just one minute and 43 seconds and finished with a Avon Cobourne one-yard dive with no time left in the 1st half to make it 16-0 at halftime.

The game ball goes to: The entire Alouettes defense deserves the game ball for outstanding work tonight.  They had six sacks on the night (which caused a loss of 48 yards to the Argos offense) and an interception.  Anwar Stewart had two sacks, Jermaine McElveen had three including one in the final play of the game.

Random game thoughts: The last time the Alouettes shut out a team was 1976 – against the Argos  …  Last time the Argos were shutout was 1992  …  The last CFL shutout was three years ago when the Blue Bombers shutout the Tiger-Cats  …  Ben Cahoon reached the 12,000 receiving yards mark in the game.  He becomes the highest ranking Canadian in the CFL in yards received and currently stands 7th overall just behind Ray Elgard.  He finished the game with 8 catches for 103 yards  …  The Argos only made one trip into the red zone late in the 4th quarter.  That drive ended with a turnover on downs on the Montreal three yard line after the Argos tried to get a touchdown on third down …  Montreal’s offense still doesn’t look completly right as they played a very cautious first quarter and the third quarter was also fairly quiet as well  …  Anthony Calvillo was 35 for 43 passing and 390 yards  …  Als DT Eric Wilson picked up a TD reception on a one yard pass from Adrian McPherson
